the ceramic-bezel homage that outspecs its price

San Martin has built its whole business on the idea that a homage-minded factory in Dongguan can out-spec brands charging three times the money, and the SN0121GA is the current proof. Sold through San Martin’s own store and through the Watchdives collaboration line under the shorthand SN0121G, it is a steel diver with a sapphire crystal, a ceramic bezel and a 300 meter rating, priced under $260 when it is actually in stock.
The numbers are the pitch. The case runs 39mm across and 12.8mm thick, 47mm lug to lug, on a 20mm steel bracelet that tapers to 16mm at a fly-adjust clasp. AR-coated sapphire sits over the dial rather than the mineral crystal a $238 watch would usually carry, and the 120-click bezel is ceramic, not the aluminum insert most brands still ship at this price. Inside is an NH35, the Seiko-family automatic that powers a huge share of the homage market.
What San Martin will not tell you is what that NH35 actually delivers. No power reserve, no accuracy figure, nothing beyond the caliber name, on a page that documents the case down to the millimeter. Baltic, at a higher price, at least cites its Miyota’s own published numbers. That omission, not the movement itself, is the real mark against this watch.
The case for buying it anyway is straightforward: nothing else under $260 pairs a ceramic bezel with AR sapphire and a well finished steel bracelet. The case against is availability. Both San Martin’s own store and its authorized resellers have shown this exact reference sold out at the same $238 price, which says more about how San Martin manages stock than the spec sheet does. If a genuine ISO 6425 dive certification and a company that reliably answers a warranty claim matter more to you than the last few dollars, the Citizen NY0086 is the safer buy one price tier up. If you already know what you are signing up for with a microbrand, the San Martin is hard to beat on paper.
