Atlas notes

Tissot already solved the Powermatic 80 argument at $700. The Gentleman asks you to pay a few hundred dollars more for the privilege of a case that is not integrated into its bracelet, and that trade is the whole review.

The numbers are close enough to the PRX to be a family resemblance rather than a coincidence. 40mm across, 11.5mm thick, a steel case rated to 100m, sapphire with AR coating on the underside. Inside is the same Powermatic 80 architecture: a silicon balance spring that shrugs off magnetism, and 80 hours of reserve, so a watch left in the drawer over a long weekend is still running when you pick it up Monday. Tissot’s own product page does not name the specific caliber inside, and it does not publish a lug to lug figure either. Where the maker stays quiet, this entry does too.

What the Gentleman buys over its cheaper sibling is a standard 21mm lug. Swap the bracelet for leather on a Sunday, swap it back Monday, no proprietary end links to hunt down. That is a real advantage the PRX does not have, and it is the reason I would not call this watch redundant.

I would still call it the harder sell. Same movement, same reserve, same water resistance, and Tissot wants more money for it because the case reads more conservative and the bracelet is not the design event the PRX’s is. If you already know you want the integrated look, buy the PRX and bank the difference. Buy the Gentleman when you specifically do not want that look, and are willing to pay for the option.
