Atlas notes

Thirty-nine millimetres, under 11mm thick, on a steel bracelet, for $228 from the maker. That is the pitch, and the proportions are the honest part of it: 47mm lug to lug on 20mm lugs is a watch that fits a wide range of wrists without looking like a toy.

The kit is better than the price implies. 316L steel, AR-coated sapphire, a screw-down crown, and a fully brushed five-link bracelet with a deployed clasp. The movement is the PT5000, a common automatic in this price bracket. What Cronos does not publish is the power reserve, so I will not give you a number. The listing also says nothing about whether the clasp has micro-adjust, and on a brushed steel bracelet that is the first thing I would want to know.

The catch is water resistance. 10 ATM, 100 metres, with no ISO 6425 claim anywhere on the page, and the listing still files it under “dive watch”. I would treat it as a swim-and-splash watch with a diver’s vocabulary. If you want 200m at nearly the same money, the Cronos L6005 is the answer, though at 40mm and 13.5mm thick it wears bigger.

I think it is worth a look as a slim daily steel watch, and not more than that. The PT5000 is a workhorse, not a reason to buy. If you would rather pay for a name and a service network, the Seiko 5 Sports SRPD55 is the safer shelf. Stock on the maker’s page was patchy when I checked, so confirm availability before you plan around the band above.
