The Explorer homage is the easiest thing in watches to get wrong, because the original is plain and every proportion shows. The S4066T at least starts from the right number: a 36mm case, 38.9mm with the crown, 43.5mm lug to lug, and 11.5mm thick including the glass.
Baltany’s page lists domed sapphire with AR coating, a screw-down crown and caseback, 200M, and a bracelet with a micro-adjust clasp, all for $227. That clasp is the thing the SPB143 entry scolds Seiko for leaving out at five times the money. I give Baltany credit for it, though the bracelet weighs about 133g by the maker’s own figure, which is a lot of steel for 36mm.
Now the caveat. The page I cited names an ST2130 automatic with no calendar, and it wears several model codes, so confirm which variant you are buying. The page also gives no power reserve and no lug width, so I have left both blank rather than guess, and I would not assume hacking or hand-winding either.
My read: at this money it is a lot of watch on paper, and the paper is slightly untidy. If the label matters to you, a Seiko 5 costs a little more and comes with a service network. If you want the proportions of a 1960s tool watch and can live with the paperwork risk, it is worth a look.
